Step 1 — Document Audit & CNI Application
We audit the Thai partner's documents (passport, ID, Tabien Baan, birth certificate, prior marriage/divorce records). We then apply on your behalf for a Certificate of No Impediment at your home District Office. Processing: 3-7 working days. Required: appearance by the Thai partner with two Thai witnesses.

Step 2 — MFA Legalisation or Apostille
Documents are submitted to the Department of Consular Affairs at Chaeng Wattana. For Apostille countries (USA, EU, Australia, Japan and 120+ others), one Apostille stamp replaces all further legalisation. For non-Apostille countries (UAE, China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia), we route the documents through the destination embassy in Bangkok for legalisation. Processing: 2 working days for Apostille, 5-10 working days for embassy.

Step 3 — Certified Translation
All Thai documents are translated into the destination country's official language by a certified translator that the foreign registrar will accept: NAATI-Certified for Australia, Sworn (Beeidigt/Assermenté/Juramentado) for EU, ATA-certified Notary for USA, NZSTI for New Zealand, ATIO for Canada. Processing: 24-48 hours for English, 3-5 days for German/French/Italian/Spanish, 5-7 days for less common languages.

Step 4 — Foreign Wedding Ceremony
Documents are couriered to the destination country (DHL Express, 2-3 days worldwide). The couple attend the local registrar (Standesamt, Mairie, BDM, County Clerk, Ward Office) for the civil ceremony. We provide a country-specific checklist so nothing is missing on the day. Many couples combine the civil registration with a religious or symbolic ceremony at a venue of their choice.

Step 5 — Recording the Marriage in Thailand
The foreign marriage certificate is then Apostilled or embassy-legalised in the issuing country, translated back into Thai, and recorded at the Thai partner's District Office (or remotely via the Royal Thai Embassy). This step makes the marriage fully valid in Thailand for inheritance, taxation, joint property, Tabien Baan and Non-O visa purposes. Processing: 1-2 weeks.
