Eligibility — Who Qualifies

The Immigration Bureau publishes the following four eligibility criteria: (1) the applicant must hold a valid Thai passport with at least 12 months remaining validity at the time of submission; (2) the applicant must be a senior officer, director, owner, or partner of a Thailand-registered legal entity engaged in active trade, investment, manufacturing, services, finance or professional services with one or more APEC economies; (3) the applicant must have no criminal record in Thailand and no immigration violations or visa overstays in any APEC economy in the previous 10 years; (4) the applicant's company must be in good standing with the Department of Business Development and the Revenue Department, with all VAT and corporate tax filings up to date.

Government officials engaged in trade promotion, treaty negotiation, or APEC working group activities are also eligible under a separate official-passport track. Academics with confirmed cross-border research collaborations or visiting professorships also qualify provided they can demonstrate a sustained pattern of APEC engagement.

Document Preparation — The Make-or-Break Phase

The ABTC application is rejected far more often for documentary deficiency than for substantive ineligibility. Common Pitfalls We Help Clients Avoid
